Wildings: are Bugs really such a Bugger?
All of a sudden, Nature is HAPPENING! And big time!
A couple of friends popped round on Sunday. They’d both been here only a few days previously, but they still commented, “Wow! Hasn’t everything grown!”
Nature’s like that, just give her the right circumstances, temperature, weather, the seeds and plants she wants to work with and Woof! She’s off. All the flowers are getting going now, splashes of colour; the birds are singing all day long and well into the dusk too; and the plants are shooting skywards, or rather sunwards as they all want the light to help them do the photosynthesis.
Local folks round here have been asking how I’m getting on with the greenfly. Answer: What greenfly?
I’m not having a problem despite my roses have started already. HM Gov has even issued a warning that, “Warmer temperatures, particularly during winter, enable some pest species to survive and multiply. Studies using the records from Rothamsted Research’s suction traps has shown that extremely mild winters are linked to earlier flight by peach-potato aphids in the UK.”
I’m not one to deny Climate Change but I’m a Wild Gardener so I plant my garden full of things that Nature loves, and one of those is the Dreaded Nettle.
